Spectra — August 2026
New enhancements that have recently launched in Spectra, along with what to expect for the rest of the current quarter.
What's live now
Tailored Adaptations: adjust adaptation height and cost
Override default cost assumptions across all Climate X adaptations and set height parameters for flood adaptations with your own project-specific figures, whether that's a real-world quote, a contractor estimate, or site-specific data.
Our Adapt calculations reflect real-world assumptions, support stronger business cases, and give stakeholders the confidence to make informed investment decisions.
Adapt faster: more flexible adaptation modelling
Bulk actions in portfolio Adapt let you model intervention strategies with greater speed and precision. The improvements are:
- Bulk apply pre-existing adaptations: declare adaptations already in place across your entire portfolio in one go, so our modelling accurately reflects your current state at scale.
- Selectively apply Climate X adaptations: filter and sort your assets, then apply adaptations from our library only to the assets you choose, giving you finer control to model realistic, targeted intervention strategies across your portfolio.
New Asset Type, Tags, BRC and AAL% in your Asset List
We have added four new columns to the Assets list within a project: Asset Type, Tags, BRC, AAL and AAL%, so your key risk metrics are visible at a glance, without needing to open each asset individually.
BRC, AAL and AAL% side by side let you compare assets' value and risk exposure instantly. Scanning AAL% surfaces your highest-risk assets right away, and Asset Type and Tags add the context to show why they're exposed. Together, they turn your Asset List into a working risk overview, from "here are all my assets" to "here's where the risk is, and what to look at next."
New Global Hail model
Now live on Spectra, a new Global Hail hazard model with hail measured in mm in diameter at 25 km² resolution.
This new model provides asset-level hail loss scores in high-exposure regions, like the US Midwest, alongside other perils and fills a key coverage gap, including EU Taxonomy, for a more complete view of risk exposure.
Coming in September
Polygons for UK buildings
We're introducing accurate, complex geometries for UK buildings, improving exposure and loss accuracy.
Until this point we have been using square boxes, centred around the latitude/longitude of the asset and scaled to premise area, to proxy building exposure. This change will create a large scale change to this, adding in nuanced geometries and therefore different exposures and losses.
Addition of "Loss Reliability" columns
We're adding a new 1–5 reliability scale for each relevant hazard's loss model, giving customers better transparency into confidence in loss metrics. We will also be deprecating climate reliability, with the climate model being considered in our updated hazard reliability metrics.

Bug fix: GBR wildfire wall type
We're fixing an issue where "BRICK-STONE-STUCCO" was not passing through our wildfire loss model as expected, causing a small overestimation in wildfire loss for a small selection of assets.
Refreshed navigation
We've reorganised navigation across Spectra to group related features together, so tools that work together are easier to find in one place. Find what you need faster, with less hunting across menus as Spectra's feature set grows.
Full migration to the updated single asset API endpoint
All users will have to migrate to https://apis.climate-x.com/main/assets/v2/single-asset.
We'll deprecate the old single asset API endpoint. Once deprecated, users will not be able to access the old endpoint.
For more information about this new endpoint version, see the API document in the Help Centre.
What else is coming (not bundled)
These updates are not part of the bundled release scheduled for 17 September, but will go live between now and the end of September.
Self-serve organisation management
Admin users can now invite, remove, and assign roles for their own team members, track and revoke pending invites, and rename their organisation — all directly within Spectra.
Filter your Asset List and Project Summary
Get stakeholder-ready views in seconds instead of exporting and filtering manually, then export the filtered result as CSV or PDF or share it via a link.
Slice your portfolio down to exactly what you need — narrow by Asset Type, Asset Use, Country, Tags, AAL, AAL% or BRC to focus on the region, asset class, or risk band that matters for the conversation at hand.
Custom risk score thresholds
Get ratings that match how your organisation already defines risk, so you can act on Spectra's output directly instead of re-mapping our scores to your own framework.
Set your own thresholds for Spectra's asset risk score at an organisation level, so ratings reflect your own risk appetite or materiality policy rather than Climate X's default thresholds — with the option to reset to default at any time.
Continued global geographical expansion
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing global coverage, additional geographic expansion continues with the following countries being added this quarter: Argentina (ARG), Chile (CHL), Dominican Republic (DOM), Paraguay (PRY), Uruguay (URY) and Zambia (ZMB), increasing coverage to 95% of global GDP.
Exposing damage curves
A new per-hazard graph will show how physical damage increases as hazard severity rises for an asset, based on its exposure and vulnerability. This view can be used to understand how severity at different return periods translates into expected damage. You will be able to find this by selecting a hazard in the Hazard Analysis section of the Asset Risk Summary view.
Feedback
All our fixes and updates are possible thanks to your feedback and collaboration. Keep it going, we're committed to making the platform better for you.
If you'd like to help shape future updates, we welcome your input through our Customer Advisory and User Groups, or send feedback to [email protected]. Questions about how these features fit your workflow? Reach out to your account manager.
